Remi Milligan completed four self-funded features in a productive five-year period starting in 1998. Among them, a controversial musical set in Guantanamo Bay and a supernatural horror about a possessed pencil with a penchant for killing humans. His last film, 2003’s Satsuman, cemented his reputation as a purveyor of ultra-low budget, transgressive entertainment. Principal photography on his fifth feature – a sequel to Satsuman – had just started at the time of Milligans’s sudden disappearance. The project was abandoned and remains unfinished to this day.
